Olympic Day 2021

Olympic Day is a global event, celebrated every year on 23 June on all 5 continents of the world.

It is a day dedicated to sport and the joy it brings us.

The Olympic Committees of all countries organise every year on that day sporting, cultural and educational events.

Every year, people in every corner of the globe have been celebrating the institution of the Olympic Day since 1948, living proof of the contribution of the revival of the Olympic Games in shaping the modern Olympic Movement.

It is a day through which the whole world, regardless of age category, is motivated to be active through sport.

So this year, the HOC together with ETHNOA participated in a variety of events and actions.

The Olympic Day was celebrated by Primary Schools from all over the country, the Primary School of Ancient Olympia, Lala, Platanos, Pelopi, Panopoulos, Nea Pella, Giannitsa and Paralimni.

Events were also held at the sports centres of OAKA, EAKN Agios Kosmas, SEF in the Olympic Village and EAK Heraklion.

At the same time, at the Panathenaic Stadium, the 3ο Elementary School of Athens and children from the Kids love sports refugee program with sports activities.

Finally, in the context of the celebration of the Olympic Day and in continuation of the protocol of cooperation between the HOC-NETHNOA and the Ministry of Defence, training seminars for the promotion of the Olympic Ideal and the Olympic values were held in six Military Schools of the Armed Forces, which were attended by 1,500 students of the Military Schools

Apart from these, there was also an exhibition of paintings dedicated to Tokyo and video animation.
