The Gymnasiums of Thourion Messinia, Pylos Messinia, 4ο Corinth of Corinth and Ancient Olympia, participated in the program ”Experience the Olympic Values” in Ancient Olympia from 21 to 26 May 2024.
The Olympic champions of weightlifting, George Tzelilis and rowing Nikos Skiathitis and the world champion of weightlifting Maria Christoforidis, after presenting their sport, had an extremely multi-level conversation with the students, “passing” important messages for both sport and their lives.
During the three days that followed, the students, through sports activities and interactive workshops, experienced the principles of Olympism, which are the building blocks that improve people's relationships, especially nowadays. Within the framework of the Programme, the students, together with their teachers, visited the Archaeological Site and the Museum of Ancient Olympia. Finally, they were guided to the Historical Archive of the ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games.
The programme “I live the Olympic Values” is organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Sports, the International Olympic Academy, the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the National Olympic Academy.
