The Olympians of Handball George Chalkidis and the Rowing Nikos Skiathitis visited the 2nd high school of Galatsiou in the framework of the cultural program «In the space and time of the Summer Olympics».
The two Olympians in the ceremonial hall of the 2nd high school of Galatsiou tried in a simple and familiar way to pass on the knowledge, experiences and values of sport to all the students of the school. They stressed to them how important it is to set goals in life and try to achieve them despite the adversities we will encounter.
To the question from the high school leaders: ”When the lights of victory go out and you go back to everyday life and when your time in active sports ends due to age, what is left for you?” they replied: ”the greatest reward for our contribution to the sporting and social community at large is the opening of the door of a school that aims to provide education, through and by sporting standards, to its students”.
The event took place on Friday 26-1-2024 in the framework of the cooperation of the 2nd Gymnasium of Galatsiou with the National Olympic Academy (NOCA), which all the teachers of the 2nd Gymnasium of Galatsiou thank warmly.
