The National Olympic Academy, in the framework of the live visits of its partners to schools, presented the programme «Olympic Games - Olympic Values» to children of the Primary Schools of the IM Panagiotopoulos Schools.
The presentations that were made fascinated the young students and the discussions that followed proved once again that children are thirsty for new knowledge in the sports field. The children were thrilled with the information conveyed to them by Ms. Melina Xanthopoulou, Director of Sport Entries & Qualifications of the International Olympic Committee for the preparation of the
of the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.
They also enjoyed the speech of the Olympic champion of Rhythmic Gymnastics, Varvara Magnisalis, who was “bombarded” with wonderful questions. Their answers were inspiring and skillfully revolved around the triptych of Friendship-Respect-Excellence.
The children showed particular interest in the Olympic torch of Athens 2004, the mascots of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and the mascot of Paris 2024 that Mrs.Xanthopoulou had brought with her.
The welcoming environment but-most importantly-the smiles of the children were the most beautiful images we took with us.
