On Friday 30 September 2022, the National Olympic Academy and the International Olympic Truce Centre, which cooperate for the implementation of the educational programme of the skills workshops of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, participated and supported the excellent activity organized by the Professor of Physical Education Mr Christos Balaskas at the Archaeological site of Pella, in the framework of the celebration of the Panhellenic Day of School Sports.
The event was greeted by the President of ETHNOA Mr. George Alikakos, stressing the value of sport and the important role that the Olympic values have not only in sport but also in our lives and then the educational programme Olympism means Children's Life with safety, which was implemented by the Schools of Pella, was presented.
Athnoa was represented at the event by Mr. Stavros Perros, Treasurer and Ms. Denise Panagopoulou and the International Olympic Truce Centre by Lefteris Kakiousis, Olympic basketball champion.
The wonderful event was attended by the Pella High School, the 6th Primary School of Giannitsa, the Special School of Giannitsa, the Primary School of Paralimni and the Primary School of Nea Pella and the Greek champions Polyniki Emmanouilidou (athletics) and Yannis Kyriakidis (cycling).
After the end of the very touching event with the message “Volunteering for health, like sport is a way of life” and after the Volunteer Bone Marrow Donors conveyed the messages of Life, solidarity and love for our fellow man, the students participated in sports events in the archaeological site of Pella.
The event ended with the awarding of honorary diplomas to all participants.
