The World Olympic Day is celebrated every year with events all over the world!
In Thessaloniki, the Hellenic Olympic Committee, the National Olympic Academy and the Thessaloniki Olympic Stadium co-organized a big event at the Sports Center of Thessaloniki Olympic Stadium - Mimis Tsikinas with the participation of athletes and children from the academies and the summer sports camps.
The Secretary General of the Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC), Manolis Kolympadis, conveyed the global message for this year's Olympic Day, the Director of the National Olympic Academy, Denise Panagopoulou and the Olympic champion of Rhythmic Gymnastics, Varvara Magnisali spoke to the children about the idea of Olympism and the values it promotes through participation, equality and fair play. This year's message for the celebration of Olympic Day 2022 «Move For Peace» focuses on World Peace for a better world through Sport.
In the main presentation by the departments and teams of H.A.N.Th. were present, among others, the Vice-Regional Governor of the Metropolitan Unit of Thessaloniki, Voula Patoulidou, the Members of Parliament of Thessaloniki, Konstantinos Gioulekas and Stratos Simopoulos, the Deputy Mayor of Sports, Youth and Volunteerism of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, Nikos Zeibekis and the World Champion of Athletics, Stelios Malakopoulos. From H.A.N.Th., the President of the Board, Eleni Athanasiadou, the Vice President, Dimitris Ganakis, the members of the Board, George Halvatzakis, Eleni Korra and Evangelos Dinopoulos, as well as coaches, curators and professional staff attended the event.
