A very successful exchange of Weightlifting, took place between the clubs AS AGONIZESTHAI and SV EMPOR BERLIN, from July 31 to August 5 in Berlin.
The exchange was subsidized by the Hellenic-German Youth Foundation, which we thank for its support.
The goal of the meeting was achieved, giving the young people from Greece and Germany the opportunity to interact with each other, to get in touch with the culture and mentality of the other country and to develop friendships that we hope will last for a long time.
The fact worth noting is that the young children who took part in the programme were very open and receptive to listening, processing and understanding difference. As the days went by and their daily interactions improved even more, understanding each other and reducing stereotypical attitudes and perceptions.
Our expectations, which were fully met, were the cooperation and the exchange of experiences and views between athletes and coaches.
All members of the project communicated, interacted and eventually found common ground in mutual understanding.
There is no doubt that it was the interaction between the young people that won us all over. The young people found their own code of communication, exchange of views and ways to get in touch with the culture of the other country. It is generally agreed that this trip changed the young people's perception of life as they met new people, different ways of thinking and expanded their horizons.
