Experience the Olympic Values 2024

With great success continued (23-25/4) at the premises of the HOC and IOA headquarters in Ancient Olympia the program ”I experience the Olympic Values” with the participation of the 1st Gymnasium of Corinth, the Gymnasium of Tropaion Arcadia and the High School of Agia Triada Argolida.

In his address, the Dean of the IOA and member of the Board of Directors of ETHNOA, Mr. Konstantinos Georgiadis, referred to the history of the facilities and the contribution of the Olympic movement to the global community.

The Olympic rowing champion Vassilis Polymeros, after presenting his sport, had an extremely multi-level conversation with the students, “passing on” important messages both for sport and for their lives.

During the three days that followed, the students, through sports activities and interactive workshops, experienced the principles of Olympism, which are the building blocks that improve people's relationships, especially nowadays. On the third day there was a short link to the online programme of the “4th Olympic Week on the road to Paris 2024”, during the speech of the gold medallist Nassos Gavelas and the presentation of the book FIVE CYCLES - NONE WORLD published by ETHNOA for the visually impaired. As part of the Programme, the students, together with their teachers, visited the Archaeological Site and the Museum of Ancient Olympia. Finally, they were guided to the Historical Archive of the ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games.

The programme “I live the Olympic Values” is organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Sports, the International Olympic Academy, the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the National Olympic Academy.
