Olympic Week in Schools - First Modern Olympic Games: 130 years later | 25 - 29 May 2026

Cooperation with the Lithuanian Olympic Committee and the Olympic Academy of Estonia-Erasmus+

The Lithuanian Olympic Committee and the Olympic Academies of Estonia and Greece are pleased to announce their cooperation through the program Erasmus+ «Olympic education: from Ancient Olympia to European practices».

The idea of the project is to bring together 50 teachers from 3 European countries: Greece, Lithuania and Estonia working in the fields of education, youth and sport.

During a 7-day educational visit to Ancient Olympia, they will have the opportunity to learn about examples of education practices through sport. They will also be introduced to the history of the ancient Olympic movement and analyse the cultural concepts of Olympism. In addition, they will be given the opportunity to share best practices in education through sport from 3 European countries and analyse opportunities for cooperation between the youth work, education, sport and NGO sectors.

We look forward to setting the future basis for our cooperation for Olympic Education, in order to inspire the new generation!
