Pan-European & Panhellenic School Sports Day

The first Monday of October has been established by decision of the Ministry of Education as a National School Sports Day. Especially for last year, the National School Sports Day 2020 was aligned with the European School Sports Day 2020, and was celebrated on September 25, 2020. The main goal of the Panhellenic School Sports Day is for the students involved to obtain from each event the special elements of the wider education, which sport can offer through participation, effort, competition, and personal excellence.
HOA carried out a series of actions additionally this year to commemorate the Pan-European and Pan-Hellenic School Sports Day:

1. Created videos of Olympians and distinguished athletes, on the occasion of the celebration of School Sports Day, the values and benefits of sport, along with a positive message to school students, regarding the specificity of this school year due to covid-19.

Joined the athletes, Nery Niaguara (swimming), Panagiotis Vasilopoulos (basketball), Ioanna Christou (fencing), Giorgos Chalkidis and Alexandros Albanos (handball), Giorgos Gelilis (weightlifting), Varvara Magnisali (rhythmic gymnastics), Maria Tsouri (water polo), Giannis Kouros (ultramarathon) and Giannis Kostakis (Paralympic swimming). 2. Online communication and information with the primary school of Skourochori, from the Olympic champion of water polo, Maria Tsouri, the Olympic champion of swimming, Nery Niaguara and the Olympic champion of rhythmic gymnastics, Varvara Magnisali. 3. Celebration of the Panhellenic School Sports Day, at the Special School Foundation for the Child "Pammakaristos" with actions and games by the athletes Panagiotis Vasilopoulos (basketball), Maria Tsouri (water polo), Varvara Magnisali and Christina Kaltsa (rhythmic gymnastics).
