The Panathenaic Stadium was filled today with the happy voices of the students of the 2nd Primary School of Voula, who had the opportunity to learn about the Olympic and Paralympic sports and Greek Olympic and Paralympic champions.
The event was organized by the National Olympic Academy (ETHNOA) in cooperation with the Paralympic Committee and the participation ofBe Active, on the occasion of the World Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The aim of the action was for students to experience the meaning and importance of inclusion through sport.The event was attended by the Secretary General of Sport and President of the Be Active Committee, Mr. Mr. George Mavrotas, the Vice President of the Paralympic Committee Mr. Thanasis Tsivilis and Mrs. Kelly Loufaki and Mrs. Evi Moraitidou, Ambassadors of Be Active and the Director of Physical Education of the Ministry of Physical Education Mr. Dimitris Kereres.
Olympians, Paralympians and distinguished athletes, George Tzelilis, Maria Karagiannopoulou, Varvara Magnisali, Maria Tsouri, Sotiris Anifantis, participated actively and supported the “Day of acquaintance with the Olympic and Paralympic sports”, Yannis Sevdikalis, Kelly Loufaki, Tasos Vougiouklidis, Yannis Kostakis, Christos Koromilas, Stefanos Diamantis, Panagiotis Sulanis, Nastasia Pyrgioti, Nikos Kostantopoulos, Anna Charalambidi, Christina Kaltsa and Christina Zachariadou, whom we thank warmly.
The students participated in the sports of fencing and fencing with wheelchair, tennis and tennis with wheelchair, boccia, weightlifting and weightlifting on a bench, sitting volleyball, athletics, vortex and long jump.
The enthusiasm and interest of the students was enormous and they said goodbye to the magnificent Panathenaic Stadium with the best impressions, because sport inspires us and unites us!
