Olympic Week in Schools - First Modern Olympic Games: 130 years later | 25 - 29 May 2026

Third day of the Hellenic-French Olympic & Paralympic week!

We met Sylvain Paillette, multi-champion in swimming, athletics and water polo, and currently responsible for sports for the disabled (Handisports) and Ysaora Thibus, a fencing champion who won the gold medal at the 2022 World Fencing Championships in Cairo, and an advocate for women's rights.

The two guest champions spoke to the students, saying that we must show our gratitude and love for ourselves.

They shared how they learned to turn defeats into positive experiences, to recover and overcome difficult situations.

Small goals are often preferable because they allow us to progress.

«Girls, believe in yourselves! Women need to be in the spotlight» was Ysaora Thibus' message.

It was a great pleasure and honour to talk to two special personalities.

We renew our appointment for tomorrow with Dimitris Mouyios and Athanasia Liouni.
