The Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) and the National Olympic Academy (NOC), continuing the excellent cooperation with the Ministry of National Defence, the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Sports of the Armed Forces (ASAED), Captain Spyros Andriopoulos, the Director of the Armed Forces Athletics Department, the DPE and the Z´ MAK, organized on Saturday 25 November 2023 at the Panathinaiko Stadium a program of activities in the framework of the celebration of the Armed Forces Day.
The programme offered the opportunity for the children of the military and civilian personnel of the Ministry of National Defence to get to know Olympic sports and to be introduced to self-defence, climbing and shooting through military exercises with Olympic champions, world champions and members of the Special Forces.
The distinguished athletes who participated were: Neri Niangwara (Swimming), Nikos Skiathitis (Rowing), Ioanna Bouziou (Softball), Anna Charalamidou (Water Polo), Christina Kaltsa (Rhythmic Gymnastics), Christina Zachariadou (Tennis), Alexandros Yakupovich (Tennis), Sotiris Anifantis (Fencing), Antonis Platis (Golf), Theodoros Delichristos (Handball), Alexios Bougas (Taekwondo), Panagiotis Papanikolaou (Judo), Konstantinos Karaiskos (Rowing), Dimitris Bizimis (Breaking), Marianna Panagiotaki, Orphanidis (Wheelboard), Tony Kusopoulos (Rugby) 
After the end of their introduction to the sports, they toured the Panathenaic Stadium to learn about its history as a global symbol of sport.
We thank the Wheelchair and breaking Federations for giving the participants of the event the opportunity to get in touch with these two exciting sports.
