On Wednesday, February 25th, the Paralympic swimming champion Yannis Kostakis visited the 2nd Primary School of Eretria as a representative of the National Olympic Academy of Greece.
During the meeting, he spoke to the students about his own journey in sports and life, referring to the challenges that disability entails, but also to the special educational needs that a person with a disability may have. With sincerity and strength of soul, he described the difficulties he faced, while emphasising the importance of determination and dedication.
The visit was a special experience for all, reinforcing the value of inclusion within the school community. Through this exchange of views, students understood that barriers can be overcome and that education is a key pillar for a society with equal opportunities for all.
