For the celebration of the World Olympic Day #OLYMPICDAY2023 , the Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) and the National Olympic Academy of Greece - National Olympic Academy of Greece, in cooperation with the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Sports of the Armed Forces ASAED, organized a program rich in sports activities.
The Programme offered the opportunity for the children of the military and civilian personnel of the National Defence Forces to experience Olympic sports alongside Olympic and World Champions and members of the Special Forces at the emblematic Panathenaic Stadium, a symbol of Olympism and the values it conveys.
The young participants learned important things about the values and benefits of sport and tested their skills in many Olympic sports such as fencing, shooting, handball, running, taekwondo, etc.Among the sports presented was Breakdancing, which will be for the first time in the programme of the next Olympic Games Paris 2024.
The February Olympic day is dedicated to physical exercise through the slogan Let's Move ! So young and old sent from the Panathenaic Stadium their own message for action, encouraging people to dedicate a little of their time every day to a physical activity and feel the mental and physical benefits of an active lifestyle
