Our day yesterday, Tuesday, December 12, 2023, was filled with happy children's voices and bright smiles from the more than 400 children from kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and high schools who attended the award ceremony of the schools that excelled in the Pan-Hellenic Cycle Race “Run for EY” 2023!
A very constructive cooperation between the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, BeActiveHellas, the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the National Olympic Academy of Greece - National Olympic Academy of Greece - NOCA made 457 schools participate in the relay with great enthusiasm, imagination, empathy, inventiveness, positive attitude, humour and boundless energy, running for the EY of their choice!
The 22 schools that were awarded, in the presence of the Minister of Sports, Yannis Vroutsis, the Deputy Minister of Education, Zeta Makri, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Christos Dimas, the Secretary General of Sports, President of our National Coordinating Committee #BeActiveHellas, George Mavrotas, the Secretary General of Vocational Education and Training, George Voutsinou and the Secretary General of Higher Education, Odysseus Zora, received a commemorative baton, a commemorative diploma of distinction, a calendar of ETHNOA and a package of useful sports equipment!
The awards were in the categories of best video, best motto, best photo, best participation, best route and special awards, while the children, teachers and their teachers had the pleasure of receiving their award from top personalities of Greek sport, such as #BEACTIVE ambassadors Voula Zygouri B, Olympic Wrestling Champion and Maria Karpathaki World Taekwondo Champion and from the Olympians and Olympian, Panagiotis Giannakis Panagiotis Giannakis - Panagiotis Giannakis, Dimitris Diamantidis Dimitris Diamantidis (Basketball), Voula Kozompoli Kozompoli Voula - Kozompoli Voula (Polo), Dimosthenis Tampakos Dimosthenis Tampakos (Gymnastics), Sofia Papadopoulou Sofia Papadopoulou (Sailing), George Tzelilis (Weightlifting), Nikos Skiathitis (Rowing), Iraklis Deskoulidis (Wrestling), Giannis Fountoulis - Giannis Fountoulis, Giorgos Giouvetsi and Manos Zerdevas (Polo), Maria Tsouris (Polo) and Agi Kassoumi Agi Kassoumi (Shooting)!
