The National Olympic Academy continues its visits to schools, spreading the ideals and values of sport to students.
The Olympic Champion of Rowing Yannis Tsilis visited the 11th Gymnasium of Ioannina, the 3rd Primary School of Marmara and the 1st Primary School of Ioannina to discuss the benefits of sport and the Olympic values.
During the discussion between our Olympic champion and the children, all their questions were answered in a pleasant and family atmosphere.
The children also asked questions which were answered by Yannis Tsilis, such as about his career in sports, and about the Olympic Values.
With the Olympic torch in his hand, Yannis Tsilis explained in a few words about the Olympic flame, its route and its symbolism.
Also having with him a rowing ergometer he showed them the motion of rowing on it.
After the end of the discussion, the children tried the rowing machine on their own, getting a first taste of the sport of rowing.
