The Workshop of ETHNOA for sports executives in international sports organisations

The National Olympic Academy (ETHNOA) successfully organized a workshop for executives of the Greek sports world who are elected or work in international sports organizations. The event was held at the Hellenic Olympic Committee Amphitheatre and attracted great representatives from the world of sport and featured some of the most important Greeks who have a brilliant career in leading international sports organizations.

Speakers at the Workshop were the President of the World Fencing Federation Manolis Katsiadakis, the Secretary General of UEFA Theodoris Theodorides, the CEO of OBS (Olympic Broadcasting Services) Yannis Exarchos, the Secretary General of Sport George Mavrotas, Chairman of the Monitoring Committee of the Macolin Convention, Dr. Alexandra Theodoropoulou, Counsellor A’ E3 Directorate of Cultural, Cultural and Sports Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Director of the International Olympic Truce Centre Konstantinos Filis, and Dr. Dimitris Gargalianos, Professor of TEFA DUTH, who shared with the participants their valuable experiences, explored innovative ways to expand Greece's influence on the global sports scene and contributed to the success of the event.

In his address, the President of ETHNOA, George Alikakos, stressed, among other things, «From this initiative, we expect many benefits to arise at many different levels. Today's workshop falls within the immediate objectives of ETHNOA and we hope that this effort will evolve in the future. ETHNOA will continue its efforts to support, promote and highlight the Olympic Values in every way possible.»

The President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee and member of the International Olympic Committee Spyros Capralos said: «The initiative of ETHNOA is particularly important because it highlights the value of great Greeks who have a significant career in leading international sports organisations. There are many Greeks working in high positions abroad and I want to believe that this event will provide the motivation for many young people to follow their example.»

The event was honoured with the presence of the Deputy Minister of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, Yannis Vroutsis, who congratulated ETHNOA for its initiative, and the General Secretary of the HOC Manolis Kolympadis, the Treasurer of the EOE Antonis Nikolopoulos, the members of the Plenum Nikos Iatrou, Nikos Xylouris, Voula Kozoboli, Alexandra Pallis, Dimitris Georgoulis, Konstantinos Koulouvardis, Thomas Tokas, Kostas Liarommatis, Dora Pallis-Petralia, member Maria Papaioannou, the General Secretary of ETHNOA, the General Secretary of EFPM Ioannis Psilopoulos, the President of Special Olympics Hellas, Dionysis Kodellas, the Director of ASAED Commander Spyros Andriopoulos, the Director of the International Olympic Academy Makis Asimakopoulos, the Olympians Vassilis Polymeros, Evi Moreitidou, Dimitris Mougios, Sofia Papadopoulou, Niki Bakoyannis, the Paralympian Grigoris Polychronidis and many other guests.
