With the slogan «We sport together. We give quality to Life»,» students from the Primary School, the Gymnasium and the High School of the Educational Renaissance celebrated the European Week of Sport and the 11th Panhellenic Day of School Sport, which has been established by the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sport. With the support of General Secretariat for Sport and the Be Active‘’ programme’ and the National Olympic Academy children experienced a day of sport, play and joy on Monday 7 October 2024 and participated in sports activities and rich experiential educational activities.
With the support of National Olympic Academy the students of the Educational Renaissance welcomed in the sports facilities and in the halls of the School the Olympic Champion of Shooting Agis Kasoumis as representative of the Secretary General for Sport Mr. Georgios Mavrotas, the Olympians of Handball Alexander Albanos and George Chalkidis, the Olympic Champion of Rowing Nikos Skiathitis, the Olympic Champion of Softball Ioanna Bouziou, the Paralympic Swimming Champion John Kostakis, the World Weightlifting Champion Maria Christoforides, the World Champion of Kick Boxing Anastasia Pontika, the World Table Tennis Champion Kaliniko Creanga, the Tennis Champions Christina Zachariadou, Denise Panagopoulou and Alexander Yakupovich, the Water Polo Champion Anna Charalambidou, the Champion of Rhythmic Gymnastics Christina Kaltsa and the Volleyball Champion Sofia Simantiri.
In addition, the students from the 1st grade had the opportunity to attend an interesting and interactive speech in the School Theatre on the importance of exercise for improving health and its connection with the Olympic values. The talk was delivered by the National Olympic Academy partner, Lifestyle Doctor and Founder of Health Entropy Projects Dr. Pella Petraki Kavadia having at her side the Olympic Shooting Champion Aghi Kasoumi and the World Table Tennis Champion Kaliniko Kreanga.
At the end of the event, the students of the Gymnasium together with their teachers honored the athletes who visited our School and awarded them with Honorary Plaques.
The top athletes were a source of inspiration for the students of the Educational Renaissance, who came into contact with Olympic and Paralympic Sports, discussed with them the importance of effort, goal, distinction, competition and success.
For their part, the athletes thanked the students and teachers for the invitation to the School Sports Day events, stressed the value of sport, perseverance, perseverance, goal, teamwork, effort and «fair play».
