Celebration of the 10th Panhellenic School Sports Day - European School Sports Day 2023 at the Greek Schools Loumbubashi -L.D. KONGO

Based on the common motto «Movement gives life» all students of the schools participated in sports activities such as Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Cycling and traditional games Also in the framework of the European Day of School Sport, schools participated in the Panhellenic School Cycling Race «Run for EY» choosing the «Ego Struggle» and adopting the motto «The good game has no colours, no borders, no violence. It has honesty, emotions, cooperation».

The day began with the presentation of information material (Power Point, Video) on the importance and benefits of movement-physical exercise and sport for the health and well-being of the individual, as well as on the timeless values of «Fair Play».

Then the students of High School, High School and Primary School participated in the Panhellenic School Race «Run for EY» which took place in the area of the stadium of

After the end of the «Run for EY» relay, students of all three levels gathered in a safe and protected area where they performed in cycling of a non-competitive nature, testing their stamina and dexterity, with simultaneous training in the principles of traffic education.

After a short break, the students of the Gymnasium, Lyceum and Primary School started their sports activities.  Basketball, Volleyball, and Football, as well as the traditional games where they enjoyed the joy of sport and play, through the cultivation of teamwork, cooperation, fair play and mutual respect.

At the same time, the young students of our kindergarten started their sports activities, where through traditional games such as tug-of-war, hoops and balls they got to know each other in a pleasant way, relaxed and played with their new friends. The sports day gave our young students another important boost to acclimatise, adapt and love their new school environment.

Then the baton was passed to the students of the primary school in traditional games where with skillful movements and harmonious coordination of mind and body they had fun and enjoyed with their souls.

The aim of our school community, through the sports activities and activities preferred, is to upgrade Physical Education, for the benefit of all students, and as mentioned above, highlighting the fundamental importance of physical activity and sport for the health and well-being of the individual.

The coordination of the organization and implementation of the Sports Day was coordinated by the Physical Education teacher Mr. Emmanuel Zilidis with the cooperation of all the teachers of the school unit..
