As part of Olympic Week, on Thursday 4 June, a sporting event took place at the 20th Primary School of Volos with the participation of Eleftheria Foutouli (artistic swimming) and Stergios Papachristou (rowing).
The school’s pupils had the opportunity to experience Olympic sports such as basketball, volleyball, table tennis, archery, athletics and rhythmic gymnastics, by taking part in hands-on activities and exercises.
Athletes and coaches from the local sporting community took part in the event, having responded to the organisers’ invitation. Participants included Antonis Samaras (Aeolikos Volos – basketball), Eleftheria Hatzinikou OLY (volleyball, Athens 2004 Olympic Team), Dimitris Michailidis and Adamantios Skoulas (Kentauros Table Tennis), Eva Voulgari and Rafaelia Gourgoti (rhythmic gymnastics), as well as Katerina Katouni, Vasilis Zournatzis and Despoina Tsafetopoulou (Volos Shooting Club – archery).
