The National Olympic Academy (ETHNOA), with the assistance of the Armed Forces Supreme Sports Council, implemented the sports educational action «I know the Olympic Sports» at the 3rd Athens Infant Station of the Armed Forces.
The Olympic rowing champion and Air Force officer Nikolaos Skiathitis, the Olympic water polo champion Maria Tsouri and the distinguished volleyball champion Sofia Simantiri participated in the programme. At the same time, sports science students Irini Redzi, Dimitrios Vlaseros, Ioannis Loukisas, Emmanuel Tsitsanis and Panagiotis Sarris participated.
During the action, the children participated in sports and experiential activities, learning in a playful way the basics of different sports.
The main aim of the relevant programmes is to familiarise children with movement and to cultivate their love of physical activity, with the ultimate goal of maintaining lively play and exercise throughout their lives.
