On Wednesday 24 February 2026, students and teachers from the 17th Primary School of Larissa welcomed two Olympic medalists from Volos, Stergios Papachristos (rowing) and Eleftheria Ftoulis (artistic swimming).
The athletes spoke to the children about their course, the good moments and the difficult phases they encountered. They stressed that progress is never straightforward and that difficulties are an essential part of the journey. What matters, they said, is to continue the effort with consistency and inner strength. Every experience, even the most difficult, leaves something valuable and contributes to personal maturity.
The students had the opportunity to talk to them, to be interviewed for the school newspaper and to see an Olympic Torch, which the athletes brought. Through this experience they understood that success is the result of effort and belief in dreams.
A special moment was the presentation of the 6th grade's work on the Olympic Ideal, which the students offered to the Olympians as a souvenir of the visit.
