Students of the 1st High School Harilaos and the 2nd High School Kallikrateia in Ancient Olympia for the program «I LIVE THE OLYMPIC VALUES»

From the 1st to the 3rd of December the program «I LIVE THE OLYMPIC VALUES» was implemented, offering the students of the 1st High School of Charilaos and the 2nd High School of Kallikratia the opportunity to participate in a multilevel and experiential educational journey.

During the programme, the students were informed about the Olympic ideal and worked on scenarios related to the prevention of violence in sport, cultivating critical thinking and social sensitivity.

An important experience was their acquaintance with the Olympic rowing champion Yannis Tsilis. Through the discussion that followed, the children understood how the values of Olympism accompany every effort, both in sport and in everyday life.

The visits to the Archaeological Museum and the Historical Archive of the ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games offered additional educational stimuli, bringing the students in contact with history and strengthening the connection between the past and the present of sport.

The sports activities were dominated by team spirit, cooperation and fair play, highlighting in practice the Olympic values that are at the core of the programme.

The programme «I LIVE THE OLYMPIC VALUES» left a positive educational imprint on the participants, promoting respect, camaraderie and peaceful coexistence inside and outside of sport.
