The National Olympic Academy participated in the beach clean-up action co-organized by the Hellenic Olympic Committee with the Committee «Sport and Environment», in cooperation with the Volunteer Workshop for Sport and the Social Services of the PA.PEL.
With the valuable support of the General Secretariat for Maritime Affairs and Ports / Y.N.A.N.P., the Sports Office of the L.S.-EL.AKT. and the Administration of S.E.F., Olympic champions, internationally distinguished athletes and sports clubs, members of federations and active citizens joined forces for a cleaner environment.
The action took place with the participation of dozens of volunteers who demonstrated that sport and respect for the environment go together. The participants collected a significant amount of litter from the shore, sending a strong message of awareness for the protection of the marine ecosystem.
The success of the initiative highlights the power of cooperation between stakeholders, athletes and citizens, with the common goal of a cleaner and more sustainable planet.

The Hellenic Red Cross covered the action with the presence of 4 rescuers.
