Olympic Week in Schools - First Modern Olympic Games: 130 years later | 25 - 29 May 2026

The Olympians Stergios Papachristos and Eleftheria Ftouli met students of the schools of Magnesia at the Volos Argonauts Naval Club

Pupils of schools in Magnesia visited the Volos Argonauts Nautical Club (NOBA), where they had the opportunity to learn and get to know the sports of rowing and sailing through experiential activities. They were accompanied by representatives of the National Olympic Academy, the Olympic rowing champion Stergios Papachristos and the Olympic champion of artistic swimming Eleftheria Ftouli, who shared with the children experiences from their sporting career.

The Olympians spoke to the students about the values of sport, the importance of cooperation and respect, showing how sport can cultivate and strengthen the spirit of effort and teamwork. Through their personal experiences, they conveyed messages of optimism, encouraging children to set goals and strive with consistency and passion to achieve them.

The action took place in the framework of the 12th Panhellenic Day of School Sports.
