Olympic Week in Schools - First Modern Olympic Games: 130 years later | 25 - 29 May 2026

«Sport and the Olympic Values as an attitude of life and health» which took place at our school on Wednesday 4 December 2024

In the framework of the educational programs of the National Olympic Academy (NOCA) on Wednesday 4-12-2024, we hosted at our school the volunteer and lifestyle physician Dr. Pella Petraki-Kavvadia. The doctor gave an interesting and interactive talk to the students of the 1st and 2nd grade about the importance of exercise for improving health. About how they will learn from an early age to take care of themselves, how they can with small daily interventions acquire good habits that will help them to feel good, be healthy and enjoy their daily life. But in order to form a good level of health and balance in the long term, the most basic pillars for improving health should include:

  • Movement - exercise daily for 30 minutes
  • Adequate sleep 7 - 8 hours
  • Management of stress levels
  • Social interconnection
  • Balanced diet
  • Frequent contact with the natural environment
  • Avoiding addictive substances

We would like to thank the National Organization for its contribution to the organization of the educational program in our school and the doctor for her excellent speech.
