In the framework of the 6th Conference of the European Olympic Academies, organized with great success by the National Olympic Academy of Greece (NOC), a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Municipality of Ancient Olympia (NOC) and the creator of the passport Prof. Gennaro Testa, according to which the Municipality of Ancient Olympia becomes the headquarters of the INTERNATIONAL FAIR PLAY PASSPORT.
The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed on Thursday 26 September 2024, by the Mayor of Ancient Olympia Aris Panagiotopoulos, the Secretary General of ETHNOA Dora Pallis and the creator of the passport Prof Gennaro Testa.
The ceremony was attended by the President of the European Olympic Academies Prof. Manfred Laemmer, the Secretary General of the European Fair Play Committee Ioannis Psilopoulos, the Deputy Mayor of Sports of Ancient Olympia Antonis Chrysanthakopoulos, the entire board of the EOA and the representatives of the 27 European countries that participated in the Conference.
The passport started its journey as the «Fair play Passport of Procida» from the small island of Procida, which was the cultural capital of Italy in 2022, arriving on 3 June 2023 in Ancient Olympia, where it became an International Passport.
INTERNATIONAL FAIR PLAY PASSPORT has the potential to shape a global sports culture involving the whole world, without borders and without any kind of restrictions.
It is a passport to sport, life, business that embodies the values of respect, inclusion, equality, integrity, friendship and fair play.
It concerns not only athletes, referees, coaches and federations but the whole of society, the family, schools, universities, clubs and institutions.
It is a model of behaviour that serves as an example, in sport and in everyday life.
