The Secretary General of Sports George Mavrotas (President of the National Coordinating Committee #BeActiveHellas) and the National Olympic Academy of Greece (ETHNOA) arranged for 457 schools from all over the country - and mainly from the region - to participate in the School Cycling Race for “EY-” (well-being, well-being, responsibility, happiness, conscientiousness, robustness, kindness, etc.) organized in the framework of the European Programme #BeActiveHellas with the cooperation of the Hellenic Olympic Committee and Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sport..
The European BE ACTIVE programme, which has been implemented by the Ministry of Sport for the last nine years with great success, held its annual awards event for the participating organisations for 2023.
ETHNOA with its President Mr.George Alikakos, the Director Ms.Denise Panagopoulou actively participated in the European programme BeActiveHellas in 2023 and was awarded for another year. At the awards ceremony, ETHNOA was represented by the Secretary General of ETHNOA, Ms. Dora Pallis and Ms. Christina Kaltsa.
The 22 schools that were awarded, in the presence of the Minister of Sports, Yannis Vroutsis, the Deputy Minister of Education, Zeta Makri, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Christos Dimas, the Secretary General of Sports, President of our National Coordinating Committee #BeActiveHellas, George Mavrotas, the Secretary General of Vocational Education and Training, George Voutsinou and the Secretary General of Higher Education, Odysseus Zora, received a commemorative baton, a commemorative diploma of distinction, a calendar of ETHNOA and a package of useful sports equipment!

BeActiveHellas, which is now well established and growing every year, implemented 1,390 actions (compared to 900 in 2022) with 253,000 participants in 41 sports across Greece.
The programme, which aims to promote sport and physical activity, regardless of age, gender and physical condition, involved 102 organisations last year, which were awarded at the event for the rich activity they developed in the framework of the European Week of Sport.
