Olympic Week in Schools - First Modern Olympic Games: 130 years later | 25 - 29 May 2026

Let us all share the passion for the Agonies Albert Camus - Leontes Nea Smyrna

In the framework of the Erasmus+ KA2 programme «Partageons tous ensemble la passion des jeux», the hospitality of the French students at the Chrysostomos Smyrni Primary School of the Leonteion School of Nea Smyrni was completed after a series of joint educational activities and visits, having as a common axis Olympism and Olympic values. The visit of Mrs. Voula Kozoboli, an Olympic champion, silver medalist in water polo at the 2004 Olympic Games and president of the Greek Olympic Winners Association, gave all the students, French and Greek, the opportunity to learn about the Olympic ideals and the difficulties faced by an athlete. Fascinated by the way the Olympic champion approached sports in the school age, French and Greek students asked questions to Mrs. Kozoboli and talked with her. In addition, our visit to the Panathenaic Stadium, a cultural symbol inextricably linked to the Olympic Games, aimed at introducing French and Greek students to Olympic sports through joint participation in sports activities such as running, throwing and jumping, as well as fostering teamwork, cooperation and fair play. A big thank you to Mrs.V.Kozoboli for her visit to our school and to Mrs.D.Panagopoulou for organizing our visit to the Panathinaikos Stadium.
