On the occasion of the passage of the Olympic Flame from Livadia, the National Olympic Academy (NOCA) held an educational and sporting action at the city's Indoor Basketball Gymnasium, with the participation of about 1,000 Primary Education students from schools in the wider region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was honoured by the distinguished athletes Ioanna Bouziou, Olympic softball champion, Olympian Kallinikos Kreanga, table tennis athlete with five Olympic Games participations, and Olympian Dina Koutra, alpine skiing champion. The athletes actively participated, presenting to the students the educational content of Olympism through their personal sporting experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, they referred to their path in sports and their sports, sharing their experiences from their participation in national and international competitions. The programme was accompanied by presentations of rhythmic and acrobatic gymnastics by local sports clubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was concluded with the awarding of honorary plaques to the invited athletes, in the context of their participation in the educational action of the National Olympic Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The action was carried out with the contribution of the Olympic Torch Relay Committee and the Hellenic Gymnastics Federation (EGO), as well as with the participation of the sports clubs AKOL and GAS Livadia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative is part of the educational activities that accompanied the Olympic torch relay, aiming to bring students in contact with Olympic education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
