Under the motto \u00abI move - I act - I create\u00bb, the Municipality of Kalamaria in cooperation with the 3rd Primary School of Kalamaria and the organizer Rosalia Kaba, Physical Education teacher and World Champion in Pankration, organized on 25 and 26 September 2025 a sports action for the students of the 5th and 6th grades of the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was part of the 12th Panhellenic Day of School Sports and was held with the support of the National Olympic Academy (ETHNOA), the Ministry of National Defence (GNEFA \/ ASAED), the Primary Education of Eastern Thessaloniki and the Physical Education Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students had the opportunity to participate in sports activity stations, where they learned about different sports and tested their strengths through cooperation and team play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A special moment of the event was the presence of Olympians and Champions who shared their own experiences with the children. Among them were Ioannis Kouros, World Champion in Endurance Sports, Georgios Tzelilis, Olympic Weightlifting Champion, Thomas Bimis, Olympic Diving Champion, Tasoula Kelesidou, Olympic Discus Champion, Dimitris Mougios, Olympic Rowing Champion, Maria Karagiannopoulou, Olympic Judo Champion, Evangelia Psara and Elpida Romantzi, Olympic Archery Champions, Polymnia Saregou, Olympic Basketball Champion, Ioannis Tamouridis, World Cycling Champion, Fanis Katerganakis and Dimitris Salpigidis, European Champions in football, Christos Patras, Volleyball Coach, Alexandros Nasoulas, Archery Coach, Arethi Synapidou, 14th in the Barcelona Olympics in rhythmic gymnastics, Harikleia Kyriakidou, weightlifting champion, Zafiris Gerakousis, distinguished fencing athlete, Ioanna Katsika, national alpine skiing champion, and Christos Kamanis, coach and distinguished boxer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their presence gave the action a special meaning. They talked to the children, shared their experiences and encouraged them not to be afraid of making a mistake or losing, as \u201cwinning and losing are sides of the same coin\u201d and \u201cthe victory of one can be a celebration for all\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The children learned new sports, cooperated, played and experienced sport as an opportunity to express themselves and feel part of a team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this action, Kalamaria gave children the space to move, to create and to get to know sport and its values better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
