On September 8 and 9, the National Olympic Academy participated in the programme of the German School on \u00abIn the spirit of the Olympic cycles - Diversity, Respect, Collectivity\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme was supported by ETHNOA with the participation of the Olympic champions Nikos Skiathitis (rowing), Maria Louisa Vryoni (wrestling) and Dimitris Manganas (swimming), as well as the educational partner of ETHNOA, Spyros Avgostis. All of them had an active role in the experiential workshops. On the first day, the programme started with a welcome address by the Assistant Professor of International Law at Panteion University and Development Programme Advisor of the International Olympic Academy, Mr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team of ETHNOA presented to the high school students the goals and vision of the Academy, while discussing the Basic Olympic Principles. These principles were the trigger for the experiential workshops that followed, entitled: \u00abManaging Our Team's Defeat\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The contribution of the Olympians was crucial, as their personal experiences strengthened the dialogue and encouraged the exchange of ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students were divided into groups, took on roles such as players, coaches and parents and shared their thoughts and feelings. They focused on self-criticism and actions that can be taken after a negative result in a sports team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The process highlighted the importance of collegiality and empathy, offering a meaningful learning and collaborative experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
