The huge participation of the Schools in the \u00ab4th Olympic Week on the road to Paris 2024\u00bb, the Olympic Education Educational Programme of all the Schools of our country, as well as of Cyprus and the Greek Schools of the Greek Diaspora, continues with undiminished interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day began with the Olympic champion of water polo and President of ESOA, member of the HOC, President of the Athletes' Committee and member of the Board of Directors of ETHNOA, Mrs.Voula Kozoboli, who said that in four years the programme has made huge strides and the participation of the Olympic Week, the Olympic Education programme has tripled and that she feels very happy because she is part of the important chain of spreading the Olympic values, as a member of the HOC and ETHNOA. She had also prepared two surprises that gave joy to the students... She showed them her silver medal from the 2004 Athens Olympics, which she said is an anniversary this year as we are celebrating 20 years since the Olympic Games and the Olympic torch from the Winter Games in Turin and urged the students to learn nice things and always walk with the Olympic values and Olympic Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Kostas Antonopoulos, archaeologist of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Ilia, outdid himself, guiding the students to the Ancient Stadium of Olympia and the monument of Pierre de Coubertin, talking to them about the ceremony of the Lighting and Delivery of the Olympic Flame to the Committee of the host city and the torch relay that follows, which carry messages of brotherhood around the world, which are as relevant as ever nowadays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the next link we had the pleasure to be joined by Mrs Christina Kyratsi, clinical Psychologist who gave a speech on the value of Olympism in our lives and the Olympic shooting champion, associate of the GG and member of the educational team of the National Integrity Platform, Mrs Aghi Kasoumi, who spoke about sports integrity and the positive sports attitudes that we should all adopt in our lives, based on the values of Olympism and the experiences she gained through her sports career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then the students met the world champions of athletics Kostas Douvalidis and Polyniki Emmanouilidou who talked to them about their goals and dreams for Paris and the Olympic swimmers Anna Dtounakis and Alkis Kynigakis who introduced them to the magical world of water and shared with them their secrets and their experiences, giving them valuable advice. The Schools responded to all the athletes with great love and admiration and wished them good luck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
