The race starts from the picturesque port of Kastellorizo, with its impressively painted mansions and passes through the mountainous area of the island, the Mounda region, following a network of natural paths and a paved road. The unique view of the island of Ro emerges as you climb the path to Paleokastro and complete the first 5km of the route. The race continues through the rocky path to the chapel of Agios Ioannis and climbs up the mountain by the famous «400 steps». Up on the rock, the route passes the monastery of Agios Georgios tou Vouniou, an area surrounded by huge natural slabs. It continues through the eerie rocky plateau passing ancient wine presses and cisterns, Mycenaean tombs, cyclopean walls, old stone farmhouses, and abandoned Italian and British camps. The last few kilometres of the route cross the island at the roots of the red rock overlooking the «cordon» of the harbour.

On the occasion of the celebration of the Olympic Day 2023 in Kastellorizo and the Olympic Games 2024 in Paris, the Olympic Flame will travel to Kastellorizo with the first winner of the Kastellorizo 21K race as the torchbearer.
The second day of the event, June 25, is the Kastellorizo 10K race for trained runners. A route of exceptional beauty, through lush vegetation, leads to the northern part of the island. Then the route reaches up to 400 steps, following the 5 km route.

At the same time, on Saturday, June 24, the Kastellorizaki 1.3K race, a 1.3 km race for all children, and the Kastellorizo 5K race, a route that starts from the port, continues through the cobbled streets of the island, and climbs up the mountain by the famous «400 steps». Descending from the cliff, the last few metres stretch along the quiet bay at Mandraki, the harbour that David Gilmour praised in the song On an Island. Following the perimeter paved path, with the Turkish coastline and the small town of Kas stretching into the distance, we pass under the rock-carved Lycian Tomb, in the shadow of the dominant medieval castle, and past the iconic Old Mosque, to reach the finish point at the harbour.
This sports weekend in Kastellorizo will be another step forward in extending the promotion of sport to the youth of Greece under the motto "Sport unites!
