With the participation of 2.882 Schools and 92.829 thousand students from all over the country, the 2nd Olympic Week in Schools was successfully completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The completion of the 2nd Olympic Week in Schools was welcomed by the Secretary General of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Mr. Manolis Kolympadis, the Director of NTHNOA, Ms. Denise Panagopoulou and the President of the National Olympic Academy, Mr. George Alikakos, thanked all the teachers and students who embraced the program, giving them a date for next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2022 Olympic week was on track for the environment and the planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students made a beautiful online journey through the history of the Olympic Games, met great Greek athletes, toured the Stadium and the Museum of Ancient Olympia, the Olympic Museum of Athens, the Olympic Museum of Thessaloniki and the Olympic Stadium of Athens, celebrated and discovered together the Olympic Values, friendship, respect, excellence and the connection between sport and the Olympic values and the environment and showed us by painting how the peripheral process of colours, shapes and ideas for the environment can become an adventurous unifying journey across the five continents...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hellenic Olympic Committee and the National Olympic Academy warmly thank all the distinguished Greek Olympic and Paralympic athletes who supported the 2nd Olympic Week, inspiring the students, giving them the opportunity to talk with them and get to know their sports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participated athletes Polychronis Tzortzakis (road cycling), Fani Tzeli (Taekwondo), Manos Zerdevas (water polo), Panagiotis Gionis (table tennis), Dora Gountoura (fencing), Athanasia Lyouni (competitive climbing), Alkis Kynigakis (swimming marathon), Antigoni Drisbioti (marathon), Kelly Loufaki Paralympic champion (fencing), Nassos Gavelas Paralympic champion (athletics), Takis Mantis (sailing), Maria Danou (endurance skiing), Menia Tsiovolou, Yannis Antoniou (alpine skiing).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We would also like to thank in particular for the support and the excellent presentations, the Head of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Ilia, Mrs. Mr. Konstantinos Haliori and of course our wonderful artist Mrs. Ioanna Tsakhtsirli and the Children's Gallery of Greece who inspired the children to create wonderful works, unleashing their talent...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are very grateful to the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and the Department of Physical Education and its head Mr. Dimitris Kerere and the supervising teachers of the programme Ms. Xenia Argeitaki and Mr. Kostas Georgiadis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, we would like to thank Mr. Konstantinos Tsigaras for his patience and his significant support for the success of the 2nd Olympic Week in Schools and the whole working team that supported this effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
